Marvin K. Blount III

Marvin K. Blount III brings integrity, experience, and passion to the legal profession. He is a zealous, aggressive trial lawyer, who is committed to thorough preparation and vigorous advocacy for his clients in the areas of serious personal injury, automobile accidents, trucking accidents, drug litigation, defective products and consumer class actions. He has developed a network of relationships with attorneys and law firms throughout the nation who concentrate on dangerous drugs and pharmaceutical litigation.

Mr. Blount has argued cases before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the North Carolina Supreme Court. He is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District, Middle District, and Western District of North Carolina. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pitt County Bar Association, The Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), and the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers. Prior to joining Blount & Blount, P.C., Marvin K. Blount III served as Counsel to the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division in Washington, D.C. and as an Assistant Chief Counsel of the U.S. Small Business Administration, Office of Advocacy in Washington, D.C.

Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Mr. Blount attended East Carolina University, graduating magna cum laude in 1993. He earned his law degree at the Wake Forest University School of Law in 1996.Mr. Blount was appointed by Governor Mike Easley in 2003 to serve on North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Board of Transportation. As a member of the NCDOT Board, Mr. Blount serves Pitt, Greene, Lenoir, Jones, Craven, Beaufort, Pamlico and Carteret Counties. He is Chairman of the Secondary Roads and Maintenance Committee and a member of the Audit and Contract, Ferry and Division of Motor Vehicles subcommittees.

Mr. Blount also serves on the Board of Visitors for East Carolina University.

Rebecca Cameron Blount

Rebecca Cameron Blount is an associate attorney dedicated to protecting and defending clients’ rights. Given her experience and strong academic record, Ms. Blount is best prepared to advise and help clients in the areas of complex and multi-district litigation, class actions, antitrust, personal injury, and wrongful death.

Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Ms. Blount completed her undergraduate education at the University of Virginia and earned her degree in Law from the Wake Forest University School of Law in 2001. Before entering law school, Ms. Blount was a member of the White House staff from 1994 to 1998.

A talented and dedicated law student, Ms. Blount was recognized by faculty and colleagues for her numerous academic contributions. She is the recipient of three CALI Awards for her work in the law school’s Conflict of Laws and Family Law courses, as well as for her work in the law school’s Clinic for the Elderly. Ms. Blount was the winner of the Edwin M. Stanley Moot Court Competition in 1999 and served as a member of the Moot Court Board. Ms. Blount was also a member of the Editorial Staff of the Wake Forest Law Review.

Prior to joining Blount & Blount, P.C., Ms. Blount served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Linda M. McGee on the North Carolina Court of Appeals.

Ms. Blount is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District, Middle District, and Western District of North Carolina. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys, and the Pitt County Bar Association.

Focus on Community Service

Both Marvin and Rebecca are active in a number of community services and activities. Marvin serves on the North Carolina Board of Transportation and represents eight (8) counties including Pitt, Greene, Lenoir, Jones, Craven, Beaufort, Pamlico and Carteret Counties. He also is a member of various rural and metro planning organizations, a member of East Carolina University Board of Visitors and a past member of Pitt County Communities in Schools. He is also a member of “Keep Greenville Beautiful.” Rebecca holds a leadership position at the Greenville Museum of Art.
